June 27th, 6 PM, Letohradská 10, Holešovice. Refugees Welcome Czechia join forces with the Tenant’s Initiative and together we invite you to the public seminar on the topic of Looking for rented accommodation in Czechia: how foreigners can prepare themselves?
Refugees Welcome will walk the audience through the main milestones of an uneasy way to decent rented housing: we will talk about the general situation on the rental market, where to look for rented housing online, how to reply to the advertisement, what to ask about on your first viewing of the accommodation, as well as we will talk about the rental contract and its important aspects.
The Tenant’s Initiative then introduces itself and gives a brief insight into its work. One of the most exciting parts of our work is certainly our action group, in which we actively try to solve our members’ rental problems in a spirit of solidarity. In the one and a half years of our work, we have worked on various cases, negotiated with landlords and got deposits back even where it initially looked hopeless. We would like to share these experiences with you and would also like to hear your stories after the formal part of the event.
Your precarious housing situation is not your destiny!
A lecture would be followed by a Q&A session with speakers. After our inputs Letohradská will still be open with food, drinks, experience sharing and casual hang-out.
Refugees Welcome Czechia is a part of the Association for the integration and migration, a human rights non-profit organization defending the rights of migrants in the Czech Republic. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to migrants and refugees in the Czech Republic and advocate for their rights, regardless of their legal status.
The Refugees Welcome project connects individual hosts and refugee housing seekers. The aim is to provide refugees with decent long-term private housing and to support their easier integration into society. In total, more than 230 people have found long-term accommodation thanks to us. The main priority of the project is to provide a sustainable and long-term functional accommodation model as well as to enhance a non-conflictual intercultural coexistence of Czechs and refugees.
We look forward to seeing you.
